About Life Coaching Certification
Do you want to know about life coaching certification? Keep reading. To date, certification is not required to be a professional life coach. However, many coach training schools offer their own certification.
That means their course has been accredited by the ICF, and if you meet all their requirements you will be a certified coach. For instance, if you choose the Coach Training Alliance school, and meet all their certification requirements, you will be a CTA certified coach. That is enough to prove that you are a professionally trained life coach. If you want to be a credentialed life coach, the only organization offering a globally recognized, independent credentialing program is the International Coach Federation(ICF). They offer three types of credentialing levels: - Associate Certified Coach (ACC)
- Professional Certified Coach (PCC)
- Master Certified Coach (MCC)
Each level requires completion of a set amount of coach-specific training, a minimum of coaching experience hours and clients, and other requirements. To be an ACC you'll need a minimum of 100 coaching experience hours, and at least eight clients. For a PCC, the requirements are a minimum of 750 coaching experience hours, and at least 25 clients. And for the MCC level, a minimum of 2,500 coaching experience hours and at least 35 clients. The process can be long and expensive. It is your decision to pursue any kind of certification or not, but I do recommend to, at least, get good training (read about life coach training).
