I heard about the Emotional Freedom Technique (or EFT) very recently, and I´m pretty curious about it. I tend to be very skeptical regarding this kind of things (I´m a scientist after all), but I´m always willing to try new things...
The Emotional Freedom Technique can be defined as an emotional version of acupuncture where certain meridian points of your body are estimulated by tapping on them with the fingerprints. The theory behind is that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field. Apparently, this is a natural and safe therapy that has been proved to relief a wide variety of mental and physical problems including:
stress, fears, panic attacks and nightmares.
improving eyesight
losing weight
quitting smoking
increasing test scores
overcoming depression
improving personal relationships
and more.
The best thing about the Emotional Freedom Technique is how fast it works. It´s supposed to reduce years of tradiditional counselling down to hours or minutes. And you can do it on your own or with the help of an EFT practitioner.

HOW DOES IT WORK
These are the EFT tapping points:
Head: top of the head.
Eyebrow: on your eyebrow on the side nearest to you nose.
Side of the eye.
Under the eye.
Under the nose: between your nose and your upper lip.
Chin: the crease between your chin and your lower lip.
Collar bone: where your collar bone and breastbone meet.
Sore spot: below your collar bone and above your breast.
Under the arm: on the side of your body 2-3 inches below your armpit.
Ribs: down at your lowest ribs.
Fingers: on each finger on the side closest to the thumb.
Karate chop: on the edge of you hand below your little finger.
9-Gamut: back of your hand between and below the knuckles of your little finger and ring finger.
This is an example of a short EFT sequence:
1. Identify the problem. Be specific, the more specific the better.
2.Rank the problem on a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 being nothing and 10 being overwhelming.
3.Tap on the mentioned spots while repeating a set-up phrase 3 times:“I deeply and completely love and accept myself even with these feelings of .....”
4. Keep tapping on the spots while you keep in mind your problem. Tap about 7 times at a moderate pace
5. Notice how you feel. Has your rank of the problem diminished?
